How long does a bikini wax take?
A bikini wax takes about 15 minutes, I strive to make the process as quick and painless as possible. My goal is perfection while ensuring the customer's comfort.
Is there anything I can do to prep for my wax?
To prepare for your waxing appointment, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Firstly, ensure that your hair is long enough. You need to wait for about 3-4 Weeks after your last shave to schedule a waxing appointment. This means your hair should be at least 1/4th of an inch in length. Secondly, it's essential to exfoliate your skin a couple of days before your appointment. This helps to get rid of any dead skin and loosen up any ingrown hairs. Finally, make sure you shower before your appointment and wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes for the trip home.
What do I need to avoid after my wax?
It's crucial that you avoid certain activities after your waxing session. For the next 24 hours, refrain from having sex, swimming, tanning, rubbing, or exercising. This is important because your hair follicles are open and susceptible to bacteria or infection, which can harm your skin. Afterward, you can resume your regular routine the following day.
What’s the difference between a bikini line, a bikini full, and a Brazilian?
A bikini line wax removes the hair on the sides (panty line) and a strip across the top. The goal is to prevent any hairs from "poking out" if you Iar a bikini. On the other hand, a bikini full wax removes as much or as little hair as you'd like from the front of your bikini area, but nothing in the back. Finally, a Brazilian wax removes all the hair from the front and the back. However, you can choose to leave a landing strip or a triangle if you don't want to be completely hairless.
Does waxing hurt?
I would be lying if I said that waxing is completely painless, but I am always learning new techniques and positions and looking for products to make it as painless as possible. I use high-quality wax that is safe for your skin and only sticks to the hair. My clients have reported that my techniques have given them a better experience than they have had in the past.
My goal is to make your waxing appointment quick and comfortable so that you keep coming back!
How long does my hair need to be?
For optimal results, it is recommended to wait for a quarter-inch of hair growth, which typically takes 3-4 weeks. Clients with slower hair growth may extend their appointments, but it is not recommended to go past 5 weeks.
Is there an age limit?
This is a tricky question because the age requirement varies for different services. Clients must be at least 17 years old for bikini area waxing. For eyebrows or any other body waxing, as long as a parent is present, there is no problem.
Can I shave in betIen my wax appointments?
Please avoid shaving if you are planning to wax. Shaving can disrupt the waxing process and cause the hair to grow back thicker. For the best results, it's important that all hairs grow on the same cycle and are removed together. Shaving can cause the hair to grow at different times, making it difficult to remove all of it during a waxing session. So, it's recommended to avoid shaving before waxing.
How long does a wax last?
On average, it takes 3-4 weeks for hair to grow, depending on your hair growth cycle.
Can I wax if I’m pregnant?
It's important to check with your doctor before waxing during pregnancy. Keep in mind that hormonal changes may make waxing slightly more uncomfortable at this time.
It is unsafe to wax sunburned or laser-burned skin, or areas with breakouts. Waxing is also not recommended on skin treated with Retinol products or for individuals taking Accutane.
Will my hair change when I start waxing?
Certainly! When you pull hair out from the root with wax, many of the hair follicles are destroyed and won't grow back. As a result, each subsequent waxing session will be less painful since there will be less hair to remove. Additionally, the hair that does grow back will be softer and finer because it's
new baby hair, as opposed to the blunt ends of hair cut by shaving. No more prickly beards! Yay!
How often should I wax?
On average, most people require waxing every 3-5 weeks, but some clients may need to wait longer if their hair growth cycle is slower than usual.
Is it safe to wax during menstruation?
While some people may experience discomfort during this time, if you are comfortable, clean, and able to wear a tampon during the service, there should be no issue.
How can I prevent ingrown hairs?
Exfoliating your skin is the best way to prevent ingrown hair. The accumulation of dead skin cells can obstruct the hair from growing out of the skin and cause ingrown hair.
What are my options if I don’t want to remove everything “down there”?
No problem! You can also opt to leave a landing strip or a triangle; just ask!
Can I tan after a wax?
Wait at least 24 hours to tan after a waxing appointment.
Why choose waxing over shaving?
Where do I start?! Waxing lasts for a month, which is much longer than shaving, which only lasts for a day. Moreover, after waxing, your hair will grow back softer and finer, making the process of regrowth less annoying. Waxing also helps in killing off many hair follicles, which means that each wax will be less painful, as you will be removing less hair. On the other hand, shaving leads to immediate hair regrowth, which can result in painful razor burns. Additionally, the hair that grows back after shaving is often coarse, prickly, and thick, which is annoying in itself.
